They include representing the trustee of a bank holding company in litigation against the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) arising out of the FDIC's takeover of the holding company's subsidiary bank and the alleged fraudulent transfer of $127 million. Mr. Kieve represented the Italian extraordinary commissioner for Parmalat S.p.A., in the U.S. courts against Deloitte and Grant Thornton in an accounting malpractice claim and lawsuit stemming from a bankruptcy filing by the $14 billion international corporation. He also represented the extraordinary commissioner in litigation against major U.S. banks. The Parmalat bankruptcy is the largest in European history, is often referred to as the "Enron of Europe."
