Our practice:
Constructive alternatives to litigation are usually a better way to resolve disputes. If this is not possible, we advocate fiercely but fairly, and know how to try and to win cases for our clients. Our demonstrated expertise and experience produce better settlements (which is how most disputes are resolved) as well as better results at trial.
Our clients:
We make sure the client’s interests and goals are aligned with ours. The billable hour is usually antithetical to this relationship. We therefore prefer to have our compensation be driven by something other than a billable hour: a fixed fee, a contingent fee (for both defense and plaintiff work), some combination or some other alternative. If the client is pleased with our work and the results, we will ask for a premium. If not, we will reduce our fees.
Our profession:
We are in a profession, which should serve a larger good. We will therefore see that our colleagues not only have successful careers, but also lead personally satisfying lives. And we will devote a substantial portion of our work to pro bono causes that provide significant benefits to the larger world we live in.
